School of Architecture

All new students are required to complete an induction process at the beginning of their candidature. When you accept your letter of offer from the Graduate School you will be asked to arrange an induction with the Postgraduate Administrative Officer within 1 week of your nominated commencement date.

During the induction, an online request form will be sent to the Graduate School to activate your enrolment as a postgraduate research student and, if applicable, will also activate your scholarship stipend payments.

The induction will also provide you with information on resources, space, OH&S requirements and general policies that apply to all postgraduate research students. This induction is an opportunity for you to ask any questions that you may have about the earlier stages of your enrolment.

The University of Queensland promotes the highest attainable level of occupational health and safety for all staff and students. For further information, please visit the Occupational Health and Safety Unit website.

The School's Senior Building Manager and Workplace Health and Safety Coordinator, Martin Bull (TBC), is available to assist you in the completion of the Workplace Health and Safety Checklist. You can arrange a time to meet with Martin via email.

Student Card

Once you have completed your induction you will be enrolled by the Graduate School. You will receive an email within 1-2 days of your induction meeting advising you on how to obtain your student card.

Your student card is used to borrow books and resources from the UQ libraries, to provide swipe access to your HDR room if required, and if used for the length of your programme.
