You are invited to join us for the fourth instalment of our new online Architecture Alumni Talk series featuring Dr Shaneen Fantin, Director of People Oriented Design (POD) in Cairns, Australia. 

Hosted by the School of Architecture, these one hour webinars will provide the opportunity to gain insight from leaders in the industry and find out more about some of our most distinguished UQ alumni. 

Each week, our speakers will discuss their life in architecture and their current projects and research. The presentations will include a live Q+A. 

This is a free digital professional development event and registrations are essential.

The Architecture Alumni Talk Series Semester One program will run weekly from May 21 - 2 July.

About Dr Shaneen Fantin

Dr Shaneen Fantin is co-Director of POD (People Oriented Design): an award-winning multi-disciplinary practice committed to sustainability and intercultural design. Shaneen has an unusual combination of skills including architecture, stakeholder engagement, project management, research and teaching.

She is an Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Queensland and James Cook University, is a member of the Queensland Urban Design and Places Panel and the First Nations Advisory Working Group for the Australian Institute of Architects.

Shaneen undertook her PhD in Arnhem Land in the late 1990s, which focussed on the relationship between culture and the design of built environments.

Shaneen has authored seven book chapters and over 30 articles relating to Indigenous architecture, intercultural design and tropical architecture and urban design.
