Please join us for our Crit Week Guest Lecture by Ooi Wei Yap, National Design Director for Thomson Adsett.

Wei graduated from the University of Newcastle in 2001 with the University Medal and is the second recipient of the AIA’s Student Prize for the Advancement of Architecture. Wei has worked for prestigious architectural practices such as Kerry Hill Architects, Cox Architecture and has most recently spent three years in Singapore leading the design team of SAA architects before joining Thomson Adsett a few months ago as their National Design Director, with a transformative agenda.

Wei has a keen interest and understanding of the political-economic conditions of built form and the geopolitical economy within Australia and Southeast Asia. Wei’s advocacy for design intelligence is instrumental in achieving high-quality outcomes for clients and project stakeholders. He has a comprehensive understanding of the value of knowledge capital within an increasingly demanding design service industry.

Wei's guest lecture is entitled Intensity, Immensity and Impossible Scale.
