Join Honorary Senior Fellow Janina Gosseye for a lively discussion on The politics of urban design: Russia under Stalin’s initial five-year plans. 

Janina Gosseye is Oberassistentin at ETH Zürich and an Honorary Senior Fellow, in the Department of Architecture. Her research focuses on the notion of collectivity in 20th century architecture and urban design and is situated at the nexus of architectural/urban theory/history and social and political history. Gosseye’s work has been published in several leading academic journals, including the Journal of Architecture, the Journal of Urban History and Planning Perspectives. She has edited and authored several books, including Shopping Towns Europe 1945-1975 (with Tom Avermaete, Bloomsbury, 2017) and Speaking of Building (with Naomi Stead and Deborah van der Plaat, Princeton Architectural Press, forthcoming 2019).
