Dr Chris Landorf

UQ School of Architecture Senior Lecturer, Dr Chris Landorf, was recently awarded one of three Teaching Excellence Awards at the annual UQ Awards for Excellence in Teaching and Learning.

Dr Landorf has been recognised for incorporating work integrated learning through the design of a 4-dimensional digital construction environment, and for her innovative teaching and learning methods. Driving innovation and the inclusion of advanced technology into learning, Dr Landorf used the construction of UQ's Advanced Engineering Building as an opportunity to document the building process in a way that students could explore it both visually and analytically.

“University teachers are capable of significant influence. They work with a high degree of independence in relation to curriculum design and delivery. The impact of getting it wrong can be profound, but there is equal joy in supporting students towards a life of learning and discovery,” Chris said.

“Winning a UQ Award for Teaching Excellence is a significant achievement in itself, but one that also encourages me to continue to pursue innovation and excellence.”

The awards night is the beginning of a week of acknowledgements, workshops, panel discussions and seminars designed to highlight teaching excellence and innovation at UQ.
