Members of the University of Queensland's Architecture Theory Criticism and History Research Centre (ATCH) will be presenting their research at the upcoming 72nd Annual International Conference of the Society of Architectural Historians (SAH) in Providence, Rhode Island, from 24-28 April 2019. 

This year the School of Architecture's International Development Lead and Senior Lecturer Dr Manu P. Sobti will present "Wither Architectural histories: Re-casting Asian Islamic Narratives as Networks, Peripheral Contaminations, and architecture spelled in the lower case," as part of The Untold Histories of Peripheral Architecture and Cities chaired by MIT Architecture's Dr Eliana AbuHamdi Murchie and Mark Jarzombek. 

ATCH Research Assistant Macarena de la Vega de León will present her paper "Modern to Contemporary: A Historiography of Global Architecture," as part of The Historiography of the Present Condition chaired by LAU School of Architecture and Design Dean Elie Haddad and Florida International University's David Rifkind. 

The School is also represented by Higher Degree by Research student Dilrabo Tosheva, who will present "The Historiography of Medieval Central Asian Architecture: Russian, Western, and Central Asian Views," as part of the Graduate Student Lightning Talks. 

The SAH conference will include presentations from art and architectural historians, architects, museum professionals, and preservationists from around the world.
